The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), established in 1952, is responsible for conducting matriculation (10 th ) and senior secondary (intermediate +2) examinations for the students in the state. Recently, Bihar dusted off the 2007 policy of no more intermediate +2 in college. It will now be imparted only in higher secondary schools from the new session starting April 1, 2024. The transition from the conventional 10+2 model to the ever-growing 5+3+3+4 structure, according to Nep 2020, promotes skill-based education, stirring critical thinking and problem solving. The emphasis on local languages and cultures provides a global perspective. Admissions are made on the basis of merit.
